Top 10 drone shot spots in the Netherlands

In this blog, I am going to talk about the best spots to get perfect drone shots in the Netherlands.

Unlike photography with a camera, aerial photography needs a lot of planning. Here are the things to keep in mind before you plan your aerial shoot:

  1. Spot at which you would like to shoot
  2. Composition
  3. The time of the day that youre going to shoot at
  4. Edit and music (if youre shooting video)
Spot and Composition:

Getting into details of the points mentioned above, for choosing the spots for drone photography, I generally use Google Earth. It already gives a very fair idea on how your shot is going to look like before even visiting the place and if you’re planning for a top down (90 degree) shot, you can already see your shot on google earth. As I mostly shoot photos with my drone, I already have a good idea of what I am going to get looking at Google Earth. In other words, I compose my shots even before I get to the spot.

Time of the day:

And for the time at which I prefer to shoot, I’m not an early raiser. So, it is always in the evenings just before sunset that I choose to click. I really donot like it when my photo has harsh lights and shadows. Inspite of using ND filters, I often end up with not so great shots when I click in day light. So, for me my drone shots are in the evenings or nothing.

Editing and Music:

Along with photos, I sometimes make videos using my drone. Thanks to Instagram reels. It has never been easier to choose a music for my videos. I have created a album to save the reels that I like the music of. Before I go shoot with my drone, I usually have a quick glance of what I have in my list and get some shots according to what I music I choose.

Getting to the point of discussion:

The Netherlands is a beautiful country to get some stunning drone shots. But without planning and not knowing where to shoot, often times, it might get difficult to get that right shot. When I bought my drone first, even I was in the phase. So I spent quite a lot of time listing the places you can go to take some expectional drone shots and thought I should share it with you all so that you don’t have to waste your time in looking for what to click.

Disclaimer: I have not finished clicking at all the places I planned to click at. So, for such locations, I am going to attach photos from either another photographers or a screenshot from Google Earth.
